Beautiful park to visit

If you're in Strathalbyn, this is one of the places you should visit. Beautiful park to just take pictures, walk a bit before heading off elsewhere...

Strathalbyn would have to have one of the best settings of any country town in SA. The beautiful park is surrounded by many buildings with period architecture. Great to relax and feed top ducks or spend some time wandering around the park then down the main street.

Maybe it was the occasional shower, but we didn't see another person on this pleasant and easy walk. Apart from the very occasional sound of traffic near to the town centre, this was a very peaceful way to while away an hour or so with our dog. A coffee and cake in a nearby cafe finished it off nicely!

This park is dedicated to the veterans of the Australian Armed Forces. It is beautifully laid out where people can relax on the grass watching the aquatic birds waddling to and fro. It also has a long bridge over the river Angas which takes you to a wonderful and scented rose garden with a bandstand? Or something of that description.... More

These gardens were stunning and picturesque! I enjoyed taking some photos here and the kids loved rolling down the hills :)

Our friends live over the road from this walkway, so we walked their bulldog through here en route to breakfast in the town. They talked about how it is often flooded & the height of the floodwater as we strolled through with "Boysie". Whilst it was a pleasant walk, it was not something I could describe as exceptional. The town... More

The walk is very pleasant and easy as it's not very far. Take some top out in the park under a shady tree. Strathalbyn is a beautiful well preserved old town with a lot to offer the curious like the old Laucke Flour Mill (see photos) and the old church. A beautiful place.

A very nice find, the pathway meanders through Strathalbyn, all paved and not a challenging walk. There are even exercise areas along the way for those of a sporty nature. Did get a bit messed up during recent high rainfall, but that doesn't detract from the scenery.

Visitors to Strathalbyn are sure to visit the Soldiers' Memorial Park, but for those with a little more time, it is interesting to follow the little tracks that run alongside the river. This is not a highly developed attraction, although we did find some barbecues, but it is a way to get some unusual views of Strathalbyn and to discover... More
