Stopped on our way to Millaa Millaa. Not too far from the main road. The climate around the tree was very pleasant and a bit cooler than elsewhere, stopping by on a very hot day.
A wonderful spot with interesting sounds of the forest. Beautiful place.

This is an absolute must see.
Absolutely stunning views on the drive in from the Highway (about 10klm).
The cathedral fig tree is amazing. Never seen anything like this before.
Easy 100m walk to the tree, also wheelchair & pram friendly.
Highly recommend it.

The Cathedral Fig Tree is only a short 100m from teh small carpark, so it comes up on you fast, and then you look up. Seriously, this is impressive form every angle.
A nice little boardwalk around the tree gives you fabulous views.
Its a little out of the way, but very rewarding to visit.

What an amazing place to visit, the tree itself was incredible, even though it was overcast.
It was quite and clean, and just great to walk around and take the grand size in.
The parking was close, however, there are no bathroom facilities close at hand.

Visited the Cathedral Fig on the way back to Cairns from Lake Barrine. We were lucky because no-one else was there which made the visit to this beast of a tree very personal. Nice fresh air and lovely light through the branches.

A bit of a drive out of the way to get there. Interesting to observe. Cool temperature in the rainforest.

Massive tree with to story of how it ended up the way it grew.
Nice board walk around it and too definitely a place to visit if you’re up around that area.

Perfect place to take photos. Just a short walk from the car park and special place for picture taking that can be used for Halloween. Glad we stopped!

...so we turned off the main road...following a random sign. ...and arrived 6k's later at a carpark. At this point I questioned what we had done. ..but we followed a scenic path. Shortly into the walk there was a sign saying the tree was 100 metres away. I continued believing it was just a pretty walk we had stumbled upon. 100 metres later I had one of those rare moments in life of being utterly mesmerised. Nothing could have prepared me for what I saw...spectacular. ..stunning. ...awe-inspiring. The bird sounds were amazing...this was one of those enchanting moments in life that your breath is taken away.
