This place has so much potential but it needs some love. It has a great little train ride at a bargain $5 per person for a 30 minute trip around the farm. There is a zoo with numerous animals but as we were too time poor we did not visit it. The train however gave a glimpse of what may... More

This is my 2nd time visit to the Big Pineapple, although its a bit run down and in needs of some maintenance but it brings back good childhood memories as my first visit was back in 1988 during the Brisbane Expo. My 2 kids were quite surprised to see such a big pineapple and they were happy just walking up... More

We visited Big Pineapple late January. We paid $5.00 each for the train ride with driver Dan. Driver Dan made the ride informative and enjoyable. If you buy the coffe, muffin and train deal it is about $9.50 each. The train ride takes you past the pineapple fields, rainforest and zoo next door. During the ride you are able to... More

It was so sad to visit this icon of the 50's and 60's. Gone was the buzz of activity and chatter of children. The train was running every half an hour with few or no people to bother. It's mournful whistle seemed to speak volumes. There was a zoo to visit, I believe, and you could still climb to the... More

We went today with our 2yo and 4yo. They were thrilled at the sight of the big pineapple and then amazed that they could go inside and climb to the very top..! The dusty old displays didn't bother them , they loved it! I think it would be great if the displays were able to be modernised. Also I noted... More

Yes, it's run-down and shabby. It's not the thriving icon of the 70s I visited many times as a kid, but it's still worth calling in to see and it is free. We only visited the pineapple and gift shop, so cannot comment on the train ride or zoo.

It is a shame to see such an icon in such a state of disrepair. Even the displays within the pineapple had rusted cans and spider webs.

Such a shame no one can inject money into this old icon. Run down with only a very small stall style of a shop, the buildings are empty, so disappointing

The Pineapple is still there and they have some great special events but unless you are attending one of these events or want a photo with the Pineapple there's not a lot to see. There is a Zoo next door which is worth a visit but The Big Pineapple is very run down.
