Stopped here during our day out touring around. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the museum was packed full of items and information. You can walk around at your own pace and there is also a small mock town street outside.

Lots of vintage articles from a time long gone. All sorts of categories on display. Lots of information to read and also readily available from the well-informed volunteers. Allow plenty of time to take it all in. The museum covers a big area with various...More

Just dropped in here as a local to the Tablelands. Kids love the look around and being that you didn't have to pay just a small donation. Nice setup.

Happened across this place as we were doing a drive up from Cairns and Kuranda. We happened to arrive late in the day and they were closing soon, but we walked about viewing the many exhibits and buildings. Definitely a place that needs a leisurely...More

We stopped in the park in Mareeba to have morning tea on our exploration of the tablelands; and decided to wander into the visitors centre. There was a nice cafe which we would have used for morning tea had we known about it and laid...More

We were on a short lunch stop here as a large group so I did not get time to explore the whole museum and am already planning a return visit! Staff were knowledgeable and helpful, and could not have done more to facilitate our group....More

This is definitely one of the best Heritage Museums I've ever visited. I wish I'd had longer to spend there: I visited as part of a group and unfortunately we had some time constraints. I especially enjoyed learning about the history of Mareeba and the...More

We visited as a couple, and we both agree that in all our travels in Australia, we believe this Centre is by far the best at what it does, particularly in its real life examples of Australian history. What a credit to all involved, especially...More
