Red claw fishing is great here, more than enough to go around. Facilities are all here too, boat ramp, toilets, bar-b-ques.

When we visited, it was during a dry spell which also means the dam's water level is low. Everything was neat en clean, and there are a couple of nice clean picnic spots available with a view over the dam. I believe that during the...More

If you are in Emerald you should take the drive out to the dam. Whilst it is nothing special, the dam itself covers a large area of water which is low. You can drive across the dam wall. Whilst there drive to the caravan park...More

Understand that it isn't very full, but there isn't any information at viewing area to explain except for an original plaque with all details written with imperial measurements.

Even in the dry, this expanse of water is worth the visit. Sunset is exceptional with beautiful reflections on the water. Great for fishing and recreation.

I can imagine after the rainy season when the dam has water flowing it is pretty cool to see but by the end of the summer the water in the lake is low and there isn't much to see. They were doing a lot of...More

Huge part of central QLD infrastructure for the agricultural industry. Can view from both sides of the dam wall via good cross over roadway. Designated look outs need a bit of attention. Having trees in front of you limiting the view is not what a...More

Great place to visit and we’ll set up for day visitors. Currently work being done on the dam wall, will be great when complete. Caravan park has had a lot of upgrades.

As many as you can catch within the trap limit. Just check with a local as I don't eat them, but I thought it was 10 traps.
