We found the view breathtaking and the fact that Captain Cook could have stood in the same place as were,is exciting. We also liked the way the local businesses have had their names put in concrete slabs set into the ground, beside tables on the flat area behind the lookout. Then there is the old lighthouse. All worth taking a look.

Well worth the drive (or walk) up to the top. Don't bother with the paid binoculars it's much better seeing with your own eyes. There is history here and superb views.

This should be number one on your list of things to do in Cooktown. This site is quite elevated in relation to it's surroundings and so gives an excellent overview of the town. The views up the Endeavour river and out to sea are awesome so don't forget the camera. The site has a large and very well constructed viewing... More

The view is awesome! If you have time, do it for sunrise as well! If you like lighthouses and history, this is a great stop too.
