Beside the River this is a lovely spot to enjoy a picnic or just a quiet relaxing time in the grassy area.

This is a gorgeous area, all around Cooktown. It is quite a long way to come but well worth a visit. The river comes off the Coral Sea where Cook beached the Endeavour after almost losing her further south. There are wetlands and mangrove swamps and sand dunes. Beautiful.

We went for a day out picnicking and was fantastic. The weather was awesome, and we saw a few kangaroos. This is a must for a day out in the bush, for some peace and quiet with nature
