Ocean Safari offers an exhilarating ride to snorkel the pristine untouched...

Ocean Safari offers an exhilarating ride to snorkel the pristine untouched Great Barrier Reef off the Daintree Coast at Cape Tribulation. This half day eco tour visits two different snorkel destinations, each with an extraordinary array of marine life and coral species. The tour begins at Cape Tribulation beach where guests board the vessel bound for the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef. After an exhilarating fast ride of approximately 25 minutes guests are ready to snorkel two fabulous locations at Mackay and Undine Reefs. On most days the rainforest can be seen along the mainland beach whilst snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, home to an abundance of marine life as well as beautiful hard and soft corals. The Ocean Safari vessel takes a maximum of 25 passengers allowing guests to experience tropical paradise and the pleasure of a small group. The vessel is based on the original design of a rescue craft and is a rigid inflatable boat driven by 700hp engines. The experienced Skipper and Eco Host ensure the trip is filled with fun and appreciation of the Great Barrier Reef and the coastal rainforest of the Daintree, two world heritage areas side by side. Magical memories like these sometimes only happen once in a lifetime. The Ocean Safari check in office is at the Turtle Rock Cafe and Safari Lodge, Cape Tribulation Road and a courtesy bus pick up from Cape Tribulation accommodation is included. Ocean Safari has Advanced Eco Accreditation.

Our family, myself Mary, husband David and daughter Georgia took the trip with Ocean Safari. All the staff were fantastic, the boat and equipment and safety talks were excellent. Loved the music and upbeat approach going out. Not too long 30 mins and snorkelling on the GBR was fantastic. A turtle swam under me and turned its head to look... More

Everything you expect from the Reef. Colour, fish, turtles, rays and nice clear, warm water. A friendly knowledgeable team. A fast trip there and back. Great view of the coast. Don't miss this.

We had a really great trip with these guys. I'm a strong confident swimmer with snorkel experience but my wife much less so. They made sure everything was OK with her. Good attention to health and safety. Very good value for money, half day trip but two full hours in water. Nice small group size too 24 max (we did... More

We didn't have much experience in snorkelling but didn't want to miss the opportunity in visiting Australia, having heard so much about the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. The crew provided good coaching for beginners, with a special attention to ones that were a little anxious about it. One of our friends did have difficulty and the crew was... More

I researched several companies before deciding to book the morning half day tour with Ocean Safari. Most tours depart from Cairns or Port Douglas but we decided to drive from our accommodation in Port Douglas to Cape Tribulation (approx. 1 ½ hours without traffic or any ferry delays) as I wasn’t keen on boarding a big cruiser with dozens of... This was our first snorkelling experience and I am so glad we went with ocean safari instead of big cruise ships, A small group of 25 people and amazingly helpful and knowledgeable staff. It was all about the reef which was the intent. We saw amazing marine life, including the turtle and beautiful coral. I lost some of my video feed... More

Highly recommended. Kane and Adam were excellent guides. Been to the reef 3 years in a row and ok the bigger tours at port Douglas and cairns, ocean safari has been by far the best. Small group, swam with turtles and overall an excellent day

The half day trip to the reef was awesome! Amazing coral and huge clams. The trip is just long enough to see some amazing things but not so long you get exhausted. Would highly recommend this trip!

We had a great time on the Ocean Safari yesterday. Sarah and Ads were really funny and energetic! Special thanks to Sarah for taking care of my in-laws who couldn't swim well. She patiently guided around on a life ring and showed then all the wildlife. It was such an amazing experience, we actually got to swim with a turtle!... More
