We took the Woolscour Tour the other day. We found it to be very informative and interesting and a great insight to the Shearing & Wool Industry around Qld. It blows your mind to think people so long ago invented such equipment and the hard work that our forebearers endurecd in days goneby.

We stopped in Blackall just to see the woolscour. It's was great value for money ($45 for the family) and the tour was very informative -- the tour guide could have explained things a little better for those people without engineering degrees.

Fabulous place to go and see how things were done a hundred years ago. The only steam engine of its kind still working in the world.

This is an amazing tour of a very historic wool industry era. Beautifully maintained and well presented. The tour guide was very knowledgeable of the sheep/wool industry and could answer any questions posed. We went of a very wet day and were well catered for during the tour.

On recommendation from fellow travellers to make sure we stopped and checked out this unique place, we were certainly surprised to find this amazing well preserved piece our outback history. The tour guide did a great job of taking us back in time explaining the workings of this woolsour. Well worth a stop to check it out.

This has to be the most authentic museum in Qld, because the wool scour can still operate exactly as it did during the days of around the clock production years ago. Fantastic! Don't miss it

How fortunate we are that the people of Blackall have preserved this impressive part of Australia's wool industry history in working order. On our visit, volunteers were running tours on the hour so we actually had our own personal guide who was very knowledgeable about the workings of the scour. A great feature of the site is that all of... More
