A LOVELY PLACE

As visitors to the area we found the cathedral to be warm and welcoming and particularly thought your "rememberence display"" was very good, well done.

We spent an hour here last week, walking around the town, and spent time looking around the church. Currently there is a memorial to those from the town, who were killed in action in WW1 at the Battle of The Somme. Definately spend time here, local history information as well.

Serene and peaceful inside but clearly the centre point of the village with lots of information about what is happening. Family friendly too as I spotted boxes of toys. Stained glass windows are superb. Tribute to the war heroes of the Somme is very moving especially as I lost my grandfather and his 4 brothers in WW1 at Ypres.

During a three day break to Derbyshire we followed our noses and stumbled upon this lovely church. We aren't regular churchgoers, nor are we particularly religious, but we very much enjoyed our visit to this church. It isn't the prettiest of churches from the outside but the avenue of trees that lead you to the church entrance is a well... More

Hard to believe such a large cathedral could be in a smallish Peak District village. At the centre of the place the church is visually stunning both inside and out.

This church is not the huge building you might expect with the name cathedral but it is worth a visit, particularly if you have a wander round the village as well and stop for coffee at one of the several cafés. It is a bit off the main road and the village gets busy so be aware of car parking... More

The carvings on the pews were amazing as were the crypts. Well worth a visit! Not huge inside, but you could spend quite a bit of time there.
