We visited Stanage Edge this Easter bank holiday and we had such an amazing time. We started the journey off in Hathersage and it took us roughly 2 1/2 hours to get to Stanage Edge. It was a very windy day, but the views were still clear and the landscape on top of the rocks is amazing. It was very... More

There are lots of different ways to reach and explore the Edge. Recommend downloading the OS Maps app as you can then construct your own route live. We parked in the village and then did a big circular route out past Toothill far, up Callow across to the Edge and along until the Long Causeway, then down through the wood,... More

Was so excited to walk this prior to our trip to the Peak District, so we put in the postcode (or so we thought) of Stanage Edge car park which I found online but then this takes you to some huge open space near a farm, this is clearly wrong! That was until I reach the main road again and suddenly sting was in front of me. No problem climbing it even for amateur hikers like me. Stunning view on top. Eat bagel and saw... More

Fantastic views from the top but do be prepared, with kit and food, as the weather can worsen rapidly as we found out on Sunday when we ended up walking in snow. The ascent is taxing on the legs but the rewards are worth it.
