Worth the walk up to.

Delightful if steep walk up the Hill but worth it. Lovely old church and churchyard with views of the surrounding countryside.

Visited here in a hot sunny day The surrounding area is just stunning and little Johns grave has to be visited in a churchyard at the top of a hill There's a wee cafe next to it too serving tea and cakes with indoor and outdoor seating

I was in the area on route to Derby for football, so diverted to Hathersage by train and enjoyed a stroll to the church, the last bit is a rather steep climb (especially for the ladies in heels attending a wedding). Lovely church and the gave is well signed and kept, worth popping into the Sportmans Pack nearby, nice little... More

Little John's Grave is an attraction here....whether or not you believe that Robin Hood's right hand man is actually buried here, it's a lovely place. The church is an ancient one with lots of interesting architecture. We went inside and were impressed with the whole place. One of the bells dates from the 1460s. The churchyard is well kept and... My partner expressed interest in seeing the grave as he could vaguely remember being taken to see it as a child. After a pleasant walk to the churchyard we wandered around and soon found the grave. This grave is entirely what you make it.If you believe the legends then it's truly fascinating and a nice memorial to a good man.... More

A lovely place to visit, church yard is very well kept. I was told that once the grave was opened and the remains examined the height of the subject was quite tall. I am unable to verify this just word of mouth. The grave is kept by the Ancient Order of Foresters, if l recall correctly. If you are in... More

This is worth a visit even if just for a talking point. It is set in a very well kept church which is worth a visit in itself.

The best way to enjoy the Church and grave is to walk the loop going along Baulk Lane and when you have the cricket ground on your left hand side you will see a small gate on your right. Its a reasonable steep walk up but take your time, you will notice when your half way up theres a high... More
