We stayed at whitworth lodge which is situated in the park. It was a beautiful location and fabulous to wake on a morning and look out across the lovely park. To make our stay perfect Father Christmas came to visit on a horse drawn carriage.

Visited here twice this week and it was obviously more quiet mid week but still not too busy on a Sunday afternoon as there is plenty of space and lots of benches to sit on. The park runs alongside a main road although it is still fairly peaceful. There is room to play football, a couple of play parks for... More

Lovely walk around this park with the dogs before and after dinner. Great location, very clean and the dogs loved the space! Duck pond was very relaxing to sit by.

Great for kids, grandparents and dogs. From the playground to the many seats was a good place for a family picnic and not many people and the cafe w as friendly.

we drove around the park a few times during our carriage ride (highly recommended) and was interesting to hear how this park has been restored to a fantastic public amenity since it fell into disuse after the war. It has peaceful areas and specific activity areas (croquet, skate-boarding, duck-feeding) and I found it to be delightful. You would be lucky... More

Big open fields, wetlands and lake. Great for a walk, take the kids to the play park, or take the bins and do a spot of bird watching.

Visited the park in the early evening with the children, was very beautiful. The park areas for the children were also very good.

Live near here so use it as a local. It's excellent for people of all ages. Walking, cycling, scooting and skating and dog walking. Well maintained and lots of wildlife. Runs alongside the steam train line and is soon to be part of the new multi-use path route between Rowsley and Matlock.

Little did we realise that we was missing out every time we had a Holiday nearby. One night we stopped out of curiosity and what a place. An old style Victorian park. You can walk from the main car park, all the way down to the Peak Railway tracks, all manner of activities were taking part, bowling, dog agility, there... More
