Staying in Patterdale this is a must do walk for unsurpassed views of the Hellvellyn range. Good, well defined paths and can be walked as a circular or linear route be using the Ullswater Steamer service.

We followed a route published in the Pathfinder guide, "More Lake District Walks". The route to the top from Patterdale is hard work but the path is clear and made up. There is a rocky scramble at the top but rewarded by super views of...More

Worth the climb. Steep section thst involves a bit of climbing. Take care on descent back to Boredale Hause as stones underfoot can slip and slide.

From Patterdale. Take the path from Side Farm up to Boredale Hause and then the path bends back on itself up the clear path to the top. If you fancy a longer walk then you can head North along the fell top, with views down...More

Good climb up at the start but fantastic views at the top of the lake and snow capped mountains. Good as part of the Ullswater lake route as a circular for day out

I walked up from Patterdale via Boredale Hause, a good walk with a little scramble near the summit although I think that this can be avoided. From this summit there are excellent views of Ullswater and the Helvellyn range.

Once of the best places to walk to in the Lakes. This year went onto Boredale Hause from the Hartsop path and is much better than the Patterdale route, which has been effected by floods.

A testing 3-4 hour walk with a sting in the tail, up one of the fells I'd not done before. Commanding views of Patterdale, Glenridding and Ullswater, not to mention Helvellyn.

Thank esbo
