If you are interested in and like cheeses this is the perfect location. There is an extraordinary range on offer from a national market but if you want to try the local variety you have every type here with experts on hand.

I took a group of ladies for a works recognition weekend to Windermere and we spent the afternoon in Cartmel. David Unsworth from hot wines is amazing and is so friendly and helpful. Combined with the cheese shop, bread shop and micro brewery - a perfect afternoon!

Really good selection of quality cheeses. Try before you buy and you always buy! Quite expensive but you are paying for quality. Recommended.

Excellent service. Excellent cheeses. We bought some lovely Lancashire cheese, and very tasty Shropshire blue. The proprietor was very knowledgeable.

What a spread - fabulous cheeses. Staff helpful and knowledgeable if a little shy. Note closed on Wednesdays which was not on the website. May vary in high season.
