I go here regularly for a brisk walk for exercise, a gentle stroll with the family etc. etc. When the kids were younger we would bring a picnic. it has been improved over the last few years with a paved path round the lake among other things.Yes, you have to pay to park but I guess it goes to the... Such a wonderful place - a mix of water and woodland. I went on a grey weekday afternoon so it wasn't too busy. We had plenty of off lead time in the woods at the back and all the dog walkers we met were so friendly and lovely. Very much enjoyed the couple of hours that we spent there and... More

Walk my dogs here loads, I usually go very early or very late and avoid good days when then masses arrive with their kids who are afraid of dogs or arrive dolled up to walk around a park. I love Brereton but avoid it like the plague when the dreadful mothers and kids arrive who appear to have not seen... More

I love this place and the staff always keep it clean and put on lovely activities for the kiddies. However, the biggest let down is the other selfish dog owners who let their dogs run free upsetting other dogs and chasing the poor ducks. My puppy has been attacked 3 times and now i darent go at all which is... More

This Country park is quite small but it is an absolute gem. Parking is easy - you need to pay, but if you are a regular like me, you can pay for an annual pass via the East Cheshire Council website and make a considerable saving. The country park is a mix of woodland, grassland and lake. There is a... More

I come to Brereton regularly with my dog and my family, and also come with a disabled social group on dog walks. If you motor round the lake it's a 20-30 minute trip, so you can either do a couple of laps, or take kids and dogs and get side-tracked along the way. There's ample pay and display parking, or... Lovely walk round the lake but sadly irresponsible dog owners are ruining it, so watch our for dog poo , if you don't like dogs don't go here . Have to pay to park.

Lovely to work up an appetite and take a walk around the reserve. Plenty of footpaths. Could do with a decent lakeside cafe that was open to visitors as it's a popular place.

If you are travelling with dogs or children and need a picnic break this flooded quarry in a forested area can be described as an urban seaside . It has a beach , perfect for kids to run off steam , long woodland walks for dogs and a huge grassy area infront of the visitors centre with a bit of... More
