Discover the secret world of nuclear government. For over 50 years this vast underground complex, remained secret, hidden on the outskirts of a sleepy Cheshire town. Declassified in 1993, the 35,000 sq ft underground bunker would have been the centre of Regional Government had nuclear war broken out. The bunker today offers a warm welcome to anyone looking for a totally different day out.

Not the kind of place you come across everyday so well worth the visit for that reason. It has a lot of interesting items and rooms. It is a bunker and it was a winters day so was a bit gloomy outside, it is run as a charity so must be an expensive place to run but could do with... More

This is an old regional government centre in the event of a nuclear war. Laid out with fantastic exhibits and an easy to follow self - guide tour. The centre is very informative on all aspects of the cold war and its own unique role in the cold war. Who new a nuclear bomb (the bit that actually goes bang!)... More

Can thoroughly recommend a trip to Hacks Green, we loved every minute of the trip - fascinating and scary too. Café was great and home made cakes delicious.

We always read the one star reviews before going anywhere - not to judge a place, but for a giggle at (for the most part) truly miserable people. Yes, the exhibits are a bit dated, but the whole place has been set up in such a well meaning, interesting and hectic way that it's hard not to love. There is... More

Visited this facility whilst staying locally in Faddiley. After not long ago visiting the recently opened tunnels at Dover Castle the information they were trying to convey at Hack Green was lost amongst the clutter. Could be a fantastic visitor experience considering the amount of exhibits they have but we all came away feeling we had been transported back to... More

Spent an hour or so visiting here after having seen it on signs for a while! Interesting place much bigger inside than out. Young children were looking for mice I think on a trail. Nicely decorated for Halloween with spiders etc without being scary. Children's activities going on too.

Remote and scary reminder for those who lived through the cold war. Thoughtfully laid out with plentiful explanations of what went on and why it was necessary

For a very interesting topic to kids and adults alike, towards the end of the tour most of the rooms are very similar and some of the exhibits don't the time line of the Cold War and don't make a lot of sense, we went during the week term time, very quiet.

Interesting cold war relic - almost like a little museum within itself. It's a novelty more than anything else, though - with most visitors not staying for too long
