Overview
More
The Crewe Heritage Centre, built to commemorate 150 years of the town of Crewe, was opened in 1987 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Based in a truly unique location, right in the heart of the Grand Junction Railway. Our site is connected to the mainline railway network with the result that we have frequent visiting main line steam and Diesel locomotives present on site in addition to our own collection of rolling stock. We also have three spectacular Miniature Railway's, offering 3.5", 5" and 7.25" gauges. We offer the facility of hiring the site out and have worked with rail industry and non-rail industry partners in the past. If you are interested in hiring the Site or the Exhibition Hall, please Contact Us.

Popped in to pass a few hours, very friendly and helpful staff, nice range of exhibits and lovely little café bar. Ideal for a few hours visit, plenty of interest.

I've visited many times over the years and watched it become a boys club and vehicle storage for things that have no relevance to Crewe. What is there is desperately in need of updating. They'd be better off making it free admission and focusing on...More

I attended for the 70 years of British Rail Event. There was so much to see: working signal boxes, the Advanced Passenger Train, diesel driver simulator, miniature railway - I spent much more time there than expected. But all the locomotives had clutter in front...More

This place is a real treasure trove and a nice way to spend a few hours. Exhibits are opened up to the public in particular the APT which is fantastic, makes a nice change from having to look from the outside and that makes it...More

A great place to visit if you like railways. A variety of steam, diesel and electric locomotives. Plus an interesting exhibition of signalling equipment.

The first thing to say it that this Heritage Centre is extremely difficult to find. We had googled it and loaded the details into the satnav only to go around in ever decreasing circles trying to locate it. Any pointer signs are either not where...More

We have been twice now taking our young grandchildren. It’s a great place for adults to learn about the history of Crewe Railways, and lots for kiddies to see and touch. There is a miniature railway to take the young children on, the staff are...More

I can't remember but it wasn't expensive. I think it was £10 for a family of 4.
