Bekonscot Model Village and Railway is the world’s oldest original model...

Bekonscot Model Village and Railway is the world’s oldest original model village. Set in Beaconsfield, just outside of London we are a popular day attraction for people of all ages.It was opened in 1929 and it’s a great place to bring the family and stomp around like giants! There are six model towns, a huge Gauge 1 model garden railway, ride-on railway, remote-controlled boats, castles, lakes and industries in 1.5 acres of award-winning gardens. It's a great family day out, and it's your chance to be a giant in a miniature land of adventure, hidden away in a 1930s timewarp. It’s a big day out full of really nice small things and we'd love to see you soon!

You cannot help but be completely charmed when you visit this gentle, rather old- fashioned place. We took our four year old grandson who was entranced by the miniature trains, boats and planes. (I actually remember visiting Bekonscot when I was a child - quite a long time ago!). Now updated with a good picnic area and small playground as... More

Arrived at lunchtime and had an excellent lunch in the cafe. The model village is amazing. Such detail in the various models and enhanced by working models such as the railway and canal boats - not to mention the thatched roof fire dealt with by the fire engines. Everything is so well laid out - a pleasure to see. It... More

Visited here as a last minute outing and was astounded at the place. The creativity and love that has been put into the village is quite clear. It is maintained to a very high standard and there are surprises around every corner. Our very active 3 year old LOVED IT and would have happily gone round the entire village all... More

This place was smaller than I expected and it doesn't take long to walk around. We had our 6 year old niece with us so we purchased the fun activity sheet which was fun for children and adults alike so I would recommend purchasing one it was only 50p and well worth it. Think the adults had more fun with... More

We had an excellent day out here. We exchanged our Clubcard points and this made it a free day out. The cafe is reasonably priced and the food is nice. The model village also offer free parking.

As we had the grandchildren for the weekend we decided to take them to the model village. It was about an hour's drive for us but well worth it. Parking was free in the church's carpark opposite, leaving a couple of minutes walk back to village. The attention to detail is fantastic with everything from a golf club to a... More

We spent a great hour or so here. The attention to detail is amazing. And the children really loved it. As an adult it's quite fascinating and I loved the control booth for the railway; like a real train network. We didn't go to the cafe, we did the mini mini train ride for £1 per person. It's great for... More

I only discovered about Bekonscot via a search on the internet, my perception being that the model villages at Babbington & Bourton-on the-Water are better known. Having visited both these previously I would rate Bekonscot "top of the tree". Part of the reason for our visit here was because it was a handy place to meet a family member who... More
