The 10-minute walk from the parking lot is well worth the trek to this spectacular beach with its magnificent multi-colored cliffs, which are a national landmark. The lack of commercialism means a true escape and relaxation, but you'll need to bring food and supplies.

The Gay Head Cliffs are a must see if you go to Martha's Vineyard. Even my explanation can NOT touch upon the beauty you are about to see if you visit them. Bring your camera, because your going to want pictures of the scenic view of clay cliffs and ocean waves. Love it!

Well we couldn't spend as much time here as we would have liked because there were NO bathrooms open. Sunday early April, I was told the restaurant up here would be open, it wasn't. And the public restrooms were locked. Ugh! And, we walked the path to the beach only to find a No Dogs Allowed sign which was really... More

Gay head cliffs are a site to behold. The ocean’s waves are breaking on beach at the bottom of the cliffs. There’s a lighthouse on top of the cliffs with the blue sky and white clouds as a back drop. What a sight! As you enter the observation area there are quaint shops that line the walkway. Some are owned... More

The Gay Head lighthouse is truly a landmark that I go see every time I am on the island. It has a great view with good place to eat and shop.

No Martha's Vineyard trip is complete without visiting this island icon. The vistas from the cliffs are incredible and the swimming on the beaches below is superb so bring a bathing suit (or don't, there's a clothing optional beach). The history of the lighthouse is fascinating. Plus, it's a JAWS filming location! Enjoy!

We visited Gay Head on a sunny, but windy October day. The views are incredibly picturesque. One thing to be aware of is that most of the stores and the Gay Head lighthouse are open seasonally, so they were closed when we visited. Still, the area is gorgeous and we didn't have to fight crowds to enjoy it.

This is a beautiful drive from anywhere on the island. Once you arrive here, the view down to the cliffs and of Cuttyhunk in the distance are beautiful. There are also small restaurants and take out places here where you can have lunch outside on a deck overlooking this view.

Very beautiful place with great views all around. We walked around a bit visiting the light house, cultural center, and small shops. Enjoyed the scenery.
