it is one of the most enchanting experience i have had. if you go there, it is better to go to its sister cenote next door first because it is much better than the sister cenote.

We had a lovely meal. It was a bustling city. It felt like an European city. The park was beautiful. We walked the city. Looked in the dress shops We combined the trip with the pymrids. It was easy transportation from Cancun. The hotels looked quaint. I will love to stay there next time

Very small opening in the roof of this large cavern allows small amount of daylight to get inside. Water is much cooler than in open cenotes. A lot of beautiful stalactites.

Cenotes themselves are beautiful however we could not enjoy them due to a couple of reasons. The ‘information’ desk at the entrance to the cenote is a scam - they escort you in and down to the cenote and then demand a tip of 200 pesos which is ridiculous. The whole area is really run down and feels really weird having to walk through loads of shops to get to the cenotes - I didn’t feel safe especially after being scammed by the information desk. I would avoid as there are much better cenotes in the area to spend your time at where we didn’t have this problem!

Best cenotes of my trip! Not at all crowded by tourists trying to get the IT shot! It's very organized if you follow directions at check in. Best priced in a whole weeks trip as well for two in one CAN'T BEAT IT! The water was the cleanest of 3 others I visited, did I say best priced too!!! Free fishy pedicure at the first one just sit still at the entrance and they come to you! We had a tour guide he was so knowledgeable and actually a native not interested in the IT things but what to appreciate when their on our trip. Showers and restroom available lockers for rent but dirt cheap when you think about what you paid for entrance! Ohh yeah check out how beautiful the light reflects your vest and lights up the whole cenote orange 😍

Nice cenote but the facilities here (shared with cenote dzitnup) are worn out and the site feels abandoned. There’s also a ”guide” who walks you from the entrance to the cenote to get your life vest and through market area. This guide will ask for a completely voluntary payment of some hundred pesos at the end, so basically you have to pay something. If you don’t want to pay this, try to say this already at the entrance. Also remember to bring some sort of ID because you need to leave that as a deposit for life vests. If you come here, do both of the cenotes to get more value for the visit.

We’ve visited many cenotes and loved them. This was very different. As soon as we entered a guy came forward to show us where to get our life jackets and the entrance to the cenote. To be honest the place was so run down, disorganised and unsigned that it would have been difficult to find the entrance without being shown. I got out 40 pesos for a tip, but was gob-smacked to be told that the charge was 400 pesos for his ‘guiding services’. I got him down to 150 but left a very unpleasant impression. The cenotes themselves were OK, but I’ve been on many others that were nicer, cheaper and didn’t have somebody trying to extort money from you for simply doing their job. Really, don’t go, it spoiled my day.

We visited as a family with a 3.5 year old and two 70+. It was accessible and easy to get around. There are two cenotes you can visit, both with about 30 steps to climb down. The water was clean and fresh. A lovely spot!

Inflation has evidently hit Valladolid because we were charged $226 pesos (including the life jacket) not the $80 mentioned in an earlier post. Then we fell for the guide scam - he didn’t say anything about a tip until we were already at the cenote - so another $100 pesos made this a relatively expensive entrance fee. Note - they want to hold your ID as a deposit for the life jacket but as we were planning to go swimming we had left it in the car. They then wanted to hold our car keys but we absolutely refused so they settled on taking my husband’s sunglasses. You are able to visit two cenotes and they are very nice and not too crowded. Yokdzonot cenote is less expensive, less hassle and just as pretty.

The Cenotes were great. And if you arrive early you will have most to yourself.

But when I arrived, this guy helped me and after I had bought tickets and gotten my life west he started leading me to one of the cenotes and said that I HAD to have a guide(him for 150MX$) for this cenote otherwise I couldn’t go. It took me 20 minutes to get rid of him and of course you can go alone 🙄
