Costa Maya is one of Mexico's most popular cruise ports and emerging travel destinations located just hours from Cancun on Mexico's southern Yucatan Peninsula. The modern port is able to accommodate three ships at once, with the capability to dock Oasis and Epic sized ships, and entertain visitors at a destination that showcases the ancient and colonial heritage of the Mexican Caribbean with all of today's modern conveniences. Costa Maya is comprised of three grand pavilions, artisan and luxury shopping areas, a beach club, saltwater pools, fine restaurants and bars, and all the resources necessary to explore the surrounding jungle and the world's second largest coral reefs.

Nice cruise port. Yes, it is "artificial" as far as it was built for the cruise ships, but many were (see Grand Turk). This port is safe, clean, and "themed" like an old town. There are pretend old trucks and cars, the buildings are stucco, there are flamingos and other birds to see. A dolphin encounter is available.

If you are a " new " traveller, then this would most likely appeal. I, am not impressed with " stuff " anymore. Or more booze & food . Get more than enough on the cruise ship. I took a Golf Cart into town. ( if you can call it that ) . The cart was 880 pesos. You can... More

Brand new port with lots of friendly vendors. You can buy all your Mexican souvenirs, experience local cuisine and drinks while enjoying the amazing views. It's located just minutes away from the center of town (Majahual) and local attarctions.

Loved it here. Swim up bar and pool. We watched the swimming with the dolphins excursion. Lots to do. We took the shuttle into town for $3 a person and went snorkeling with our own gear on the beach with reservations at Tropicana for lunch.

We were waiting for this port to purchase reasonably priced souvenirs thinking that since it was a smaller town it would be cheaper. We were wrong. This place is new and tailored to tourists. A pretty place to walk around but very expensive, with prices more expensive than any other port we visited.

This port has really been built up. We docked here on an RCL cruise. The pier itself is very long, but they have a slower shuttle if you can't/won't walk. They have themed shops and huts that sell all kinds of souvenirs. They are only moderately pushy here. There was a free wireless signal just as you come through the... More

This was my first time to this port. The market areas is clean and seems newer. The shops and souvenir's are unremarkable, the same as any other Mexican port. The bars and restaurants are clean. Both places we went we were seated right away. Service was prompt and the server(s) friendly. The beer bar has a great view overlooking the... More

I have been to this port three times. I was here exactly a year earlier and the port has really been built up during that time. The bar pool is great for something a little different than the ship as it is huge. It is salt water and has some swim up stools as well as a really shallow area... More

The port at Costa Maya is pretty with a large pool featuring a swim up bar. A dolphin discovery center where you can swim with the dolphins, a few bars and plenty of shops. If you walk out of the back of the port to where the taxis line up you can take a short taxi ride to a beautiful... More

There is a nice marketplace adjacent to the cruise dock. There are shops selling a wide range of goods and services including a fish spa. (No, a fish spa is not where you take your pet fish for a massage, it’s where you put your feet into a fish tank so the fish can eat the dead skin off your... More
