Half Moon Bay is north of Akumal Beach, an easy bike ride on the cobblestone road to get from one to the other. The bay is lined by a single row small condos and some private villas, behind them all runs the small cobblestone road...More

A quiet bay with beautiful views. The water is not great for swimming or snorkeling. It is very shallow. The seas grass was abundant when we were there. We did see turtles and some reef fish. This is a quiet and restful alternative to the...More

Problem with seaweed, however there were places you could get in without too much seaweed. Beuna Vida great place to hang out and small pool for kids.

Shallow water, rocky bottom, use swimming footwear to protect your feet. Spotted manta ray and turtles a few times

Went snorkeling on Half Moon Bay yesterday, and it was glorious! Crystal clear water, lots of marine life, and a nice sandy beach. There are nice restaurants there too for lunch.

It isn't really beach from Akumal Bay to Half moon bay: it's coral so it's very rough and uneven. Don't picture a walk along a sandy beach. The only sandy beaches are around the bays themselves. We walked regularly from... More
