Pleasant place but the steps to the lagoon are very slippery. We walk from our resort Akumal beach. Stop off for a beer on the way. It was nice but very hot. Once we had done the lagoon. We got the guys at the lagoon to order us a cab back to our resort as we had a two year... More

We rented bikes and headed over to the lagoon for an afternoon of snorkeling. You can rent life jackets for an additional fee. The lagoon was very pretty and my family enjoyed the day, but the snorkeling was actually best at the beginning. As we moved further out, we did not see a lot. Not sure if it was due... More

Very nice, calm water. Great for novice snorkelers. We saw fairly limited wildlife but it was still worthwhile.

Ten years ago went snorkeling there.Didn't realize it was the same spot until I got there. The sculptures weren't here at that time. And the check in desk is new to. If you go without a tour your in a different area as the tours go in at a different spot. The snorkeling is ok-good. If you have a underwater camera... More

We have been coming here for years when it was a secret, pristine place to unwind, but the crowds are ridiculous. We stayed at Casa Romero for a week just to be able to have the lagoon to ourselves before 9 in the morning and after 5 in the evening. We had a first hand look at what "tour groups"... More

We rented a golf cart and drove it to the park. No coolers allowed in the park, had to leave all drinks in the golf cart.

Rod Rater - The Custom Tour - set up a last-minute trip here for us (bless him!!) with his guide Kat (amazing!) We wanted to snorkel and had been to cenotes & the reef so he suggested this lagoon as an alternative type of water - brackish. We were so so happy we went. It was beautiful, so relaxing and... We had the greatest time here! It's like swimming in an aquarium. Make sure you take an underwater camera or go Pro. There's all sorts of pretty sculptures in the park area leading to the lagoon, it's quite pretty. The lagoon is amazing! So many fish everywhere. There's bits of underwater structure in one area (docks, etc) that the fish... More

A hidden gem! On a small street filled with condos and beautiful homes. Also small shops and restaurants that lead to this great location. The sculptures and fauna leading to the water are great. The fish and waters are stunning. It's quiet and laid back. Not too crowded. Love it.

The Yal-Ku Lagoon is a beautiful place to snorkel or just take a walk. It has gorgeous sculptures and compliment the natural Lagoon setting. I have never been there when it is busy. It's a quiet relaxing beautiful getaway for the afternoon. A Treasure of Akumal.
