About
Tres Raíces arises from the idea of a Mexican family to create a place where they can enjoy what they are most passionate about; the wine. The word THREE refers to each of their children, and the word ROOTS refers to the concept of "putting down roots", developing and caring for the most valuable of the family foundations, as well as caring for the most important part of the vine. plant: the roots.

It wasn’t clear from their website but each small pour for their tasting is 80 pesos, plus they stick you for any water you drink. We finally just ordered one bottle of white wine and the cheese and meat plate and sat outside. Uneven service but the setting and food and wine were delicious. They need a good manager!

Enjoyable couple hours (not counting rides to and from pick up point.) Tour of vinyard and cellar took 30 minutes - there was no real wine processing going on. Tasting took about 45 minutes. Grounds and buildings were beautiful. It was a weekday and very quiet, so we asked for tour of the hotel (individual luxury cabanas.) That was about 15 minutes. The rest of the time we sat enjoying the sun and breeze waiting for driver to return.
I'm not a wine expert, so can't speak to the quality of the tasting, but the five samples they offered us seemed a good variety. The sommelier (studied in Leon and spoke decent English) also gave the tour. He was friendly and answered our questions, but didn't go into great detail on the wines or on the pairings. (I suggest eating before you go, so you're not tempted to eat the three cheese cubes, pieces of prosciutto and olives before the wine appears.)
What they don't tell you in the brochure: The winery was only started in 2015 and none of the grapes grown there are mature enough to bottle. So even though we saw a small bottling station and cellar, none of the wine served there come from grapes grown there. Also, all the 80 acres of vines were bare. So if you want to see grapes on the vine, check first. If you want to see actual wine produced, find another vineyard.

Stopped by on the way back to SMA from a day trip to DH at the advice of our guide. Opted out of the full winery tour since we’ve been on dozens of them but were curious enough to taste their wine since we were there. Charged 800 pesos a person to taste wines which were all rather mediocre and on top of that the pourer shook us down for a tip! Would’ve been cheaper to buy 5 bottles of their wine and tried them all rather than paying their outrageous price for five 1/2 ounce pours. The place is interesting to look at if you’re into the nuevo rico DF aesthetic but if you’re interested in trying good Mexican wines go to La Europea and have them pick out a few for you. Waste of time and money.

We visited Tres Raices while entertaining some friends from Canada that came to visit. We were really blown away at the beautiful facility, the grounds and the wine producing operation. We took a tour and had dinner. The food was soooooo delicious! We had a yummy beet salad, suckling pig and a yummy gooey corn cake that I fell in love with. The sucking pig just melted in my mouth. If you come to San Miguel de Allende, be sure to visit this lovely winery. You won't be disappointed.

We had lunch and a few different glasses of their wine. The bone marrow was exceptional, but the rest of our food - ribeye, beet salad and tuna on toast - was average. They had many servers, but they were all just standing about and didn’t seem interested in making our dining experience memorable. The wine was good, but you can’t buy a tasting without a tour, which seems counterintuitive. We were disappointed in the grounds as they are pretty bare. Would we return? No.

Hello, I would like to make this review of this wine-growing area of Mexico where its evolution is surprising and how they have grown in this topic in addition to the culinary and rest experience. I am very surprised and the Tres Raíces Winery, which is minutes from Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel de Allende has such well-made wines. Many congratulations to all

My wife and I reserved the tour and tasting prior to our visit. The facility and the grounds are beautiful! We started with a tour of the vineyard where our guide Mauricio gave us great information about their growing and wine making process. We moved into the tasting area where Mauricio had 5 wines for us to sample. We enjoyed all of them and learned a lot from him. We highly recommend Tres Raices and hope to return in the future!

The accommodation facilities are comfortable. With some areas of opportunity for when older adults or small children go.
The restaurant area is quite nice and the service is very good.
The quality of the food is quite good.
The quality of the wines is also varied and of high quality.
It is a suitable place to stay near San Miguel de Allende (20-25 minutes) and spend a little time there.

Went for food in a vineyard setting. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Unfortunately, when we reserved they did not mention that they had a booking for a birthday party. Raucous and electric music with DJ in no way complemented the good food and wine, which was a pity.
Great setting. No expense spared . Popular. Just too noisy, on this occasion.

This is a good little day trip from San Miguel de Allende, if you're a wine aficionado. They have wine tasting that has mostly unremarkable, but drinkable wines. The grounds and buildings are very typical of a hobby vineyard with an extremely rich and opinionated dueño. Money has been liberally poured in with obviously little thought to a remunerable return on said expenditure. It's a legitimate winery with their products sold abroad, but I can't imagine how much they lose yearly. I'm certain that it would fund my modest lifestyle for a decade, in style. They have a legitimately good restaurant on site that impressed us and is worth a try. If you're a connoisseur of follies and wine and enjoy seeing how the elite squander their cash, enjoy!
