I really wanted to like this vineyard. We made the reservation and upon arrival, were talked down to a less expensive tasting…. To be grouped with another group. We reluctantly began the tasting… and then the guide left us for 30 min. We had to look for the guide to continue the tasting. This repeatedly went on for the rest of the experience. They were overwhelmed and overbooked and had no way of compensating guests. Would never go here again. And the wines? Nice idea. Fail.

We loved Gigi and our wine tasting experience. She was very knowledgable about the wines. The service was excellent! Please make sure you eat at the Troika food truck parked outside. It is phenomenal! And the gorgeous lake out front with the swans, ducks and geese swimming in it was breathtaking.

Fernanda was such an incredible host, she is not only incredibly knowledgeable but passionate about what she does.
We did the premium natural wine tasting which was great, if you haven’t tasted natural wines before there is a different finish to it, almost sour like kombucha but unique and lovely. If that’s not your thing than stick to the basic tasting.
We loved learning tons about natural wines and the story of Vena Cava. Will definitely be back at our next trip to the Valle.

Vena Cava was a little hard to reach as there weren't many signs and Google Maps sent us to several dead ends along the way, but we later learned that Waze is better for this area. Once we got there, the service and wines were amazing. Enrique was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, going above and beyond with the tasting and answering questions. Highly recommend visiting this winery, just get directions in advance.

This winery is unique and an architectural feat - made from reclaimed boats.
If you’re really into wine and fine wines, this is not my first recommendation. Unfortunately our host for the wine tasting was 30 minutes late and it was difficult to get an ETA or reason as to why. We were just told to walk around. It would seem reasonable to me to pour a small glass of bubbles and explain the delay.
Once we started the tasting, the room was pretty with bottles, barrels, racks and chandeliers. For us, the wine just didn’t impress.

Service was good. White wine was tasty but red Wines were oxidized. It was difficult to figure out how to get into the building, but the server came out of the office and helped us navigate the entrance. Interesting layout and decor

Innovative use of recycled materials throughout this winery. Unfortunately we were there late in the day and it was so busy, we weren’t able to have an adequate wine tasting. Actually, I didn’t have any wine. I just checked out the place and it’s interesting use of materials…old boats were converted to roofs; wine bottle bottoms used to create a light-rayed door, water life saving rings as mirrors. There’s a food truck, “Troika” but we out of luck there too. But I hear the food is good. I’ll have to come back to try their wines.

This was the first time I went wine tasting in the Guadalupe Valley. We started ant Vena Cava which set the bar very high. The service was amazing and the people who work there seem genuinely happy to be there. Gave us some great background on the winery and very detailed on each wine we tried. We will definitely be back.

Amazing! If you ever go to Valle de Guadalupe you have to stop by Vena Cava. Beautiful located and very chill environment. A bar area and a food truck outside. Wine tasting inside, under a roof made from a boat.
We had the all natural wine tasting experience. 4 wines included, white, rose, orange and red. Our sommelier where fantastic. She made the experience more special. She even gave us a glass of their sparkling wine, for free, that we enjoyed outside in the sun.
We paid 600 Mexican pesos each, worth every penny. Also ended up buying 3 bottles of their fantastic wines.
Thank you Vena Cava and a special thanks to Fernanda (sommelier).

How do I find your winery? We tried yesterday and ended up on a long dirt road.

Sorry for the late response I did not even see the message and I have been out of the country… We actually went through a winery travel guide that we were able to find on Google and they took us to all the different wineries in Ensenada… It was only about $100 a person so it was definitely a good deal.
