Great food.
It is difficult to contact Vinas de Frannes. They don’t have a functioning website when we tried to connect and phone calls or emails were not answered. We tried our luck by driving by the property and they were open! The food was fantastic and we might have had our best sirloin steak tacos there ever. We came for the wine but it fell short in our liking. Mostly single note, medium body and lacking complexity and finish. Beautiful view from the patio at the northern edge of the valley. Service was good!

Since we got there, we found a big surprise, it is located in the middle of the mountains.
They have a 100% cabernet franc wich is very hard to find, we paired it with an aged rib eye and it was just perfect. Their best wine is called pater, is a cabernet sauvignon, my opinion? PERFECT !!
Service was a little poor, the waiter Angelica was overall absent but I think it was her first day working, I sure they'll fix that.

Great red wines, good food overall and reasonable prices for their quality wines. They have the same owners at Camou next door. Although they don't have a website it is truly a nice place to stop!

Absolutely wonderful. Stopped by on a Monday with no reservation and they accommodated us with no problem. The queso fundido con chorizo was stupid good. We scraped the skillet clean. The wines were delicious. Every wine we tried we wanted to buy a bottle. We bought the Cab Sauv, but the Merlot was surprisingly delicious as well. The road wasn’t too bad getting there and it has a large parking lot. The views of the vineyards are stunning and the service was wonderful. Highly recommend! We’ll come back next time we’re in Valle de Guadalupe.

The food is very rich and the view to the vineyard too. I only suggest improving the experience of the tasting, we ordered the premium, which has some of its best wines, the first was a Chardonnay, which was not up to the temperature and when we told them that sometimes the wine heats up when leaving it out or serving, then followed a cabernet which they served in the same glass as the Chardonnay and so all the tasting in the same glass, until we had to tell them to change them.
The atmosphere is relaxed to spend the afternoon.

Really fantastic wines from whits to reds and even a port-style wine. The views from your table are fantastic, looking out on the mountains and vineyard. Definitely want to check out the food next time. The wood fired meet smelled amazing!

We started our day of wine touring at this winery. Our server was friendly and very knowledgable about their wines. We have an appreciation for wines that are a bit more difficult to differentiate, like Merlot. In their case, they did an excellent job of distancing this wine from the pedestrian versions that are produced in California. It was balanced, with just the right influence from the barrel. They clearly know what they are doing because all the wines exhibited the character of well grown and harvested grapes, treated with respect until they find their way into the bottle. Not all of their wines were our favorites, but when you have 2 excellent wines out of four (our opinion only), you've had a great day. BTW, the views from the tasting room are amazing!!

My boyfriend and I hit Vina de Frannes while out wine tasting at some of Valle's local wineries. We had reccomendations from a couple locals to try stopping at this one and we are glad we did. The wine tasting itself was subpar, the girl doing it was very bland and seemed to be reading a script (very robotically). However, the wine selection was pretty good for the prices and the food was almost better. The atmosphere outside was very nice as well. Not too big of a winery, you get a small local feel unlike some of the larger wineries that have established vineyards in Valle.

This is a beautiful property, modern, clean and peaceful. We sat on the back deck and I did the tasting while my husband ordered a glass of Cab sauv. There wines were all amazing!! Since this was our last stop of the day, we weren't there long, but will definitely be back!!
