I like the loop around Mud Lake. We are surrounded by trees and at times we can come closer to the lake. I was able to see many birds, a turtle, ducks and frogs. I enjoy this place, as birds sing freely. Still, it’s quite a weird name for such an attractive area! There is a reason behind it. The... More

Small parking area off Elm Street just west of the Mud Lake. Paths are very narrow so will need to walk single file if in a group. Some rudimentary stairs and small hills so make sure you have good walking gear. Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues of any sort. Quiet and peaceful although not really scenic. We have been to mud lake quite a few times since we moved to Niagara. There are a few trails you can take so there is a choice. Be careful during tick season we have found a few on us. Lovely place to go!!!!

Loved the tranquility of this conservation park. Wildlife galore, frogs were croaking, tadpoles observed. If you're lucky like me you'll see deer. One caveat you'll need your wellies in the early spring. However worth every step to return to nature.
