Archibald Orchards & Estate Winery is a 4th generation family farm located just east of Toronto. Their Fruit Winery offers complimentary sampling of wines ranging from very dry to sweet, ice types. Come the fall, the orchard with some 10,000 trees & 13 different varieties of apples is a great place for Pick Your Own apples. During this time, there is a free children's play area & on weekends fresh cut fries & caramel apple dumplings are available in the Apple Core Cafe. Something for everyone depending on the season!

A visit to Ontario is not complete without a visit to Archibald's Estate Winery. Sandy and Fred do a fantastic job with this world class destination. And to top things off I just tasted the latest release of Archibald's Estate Winery McIntosh Fruit Wine. I really loved this one. You will find that McIntosh apple aroma wafts out of the... More

Great place to stop on a weekend with children for picking apples and playing in the maze. Then the adults can tour the winery and gift shop. Great gift ideas for all occasions.

Picking apples is always great fun for all ages. We have a spring event your family might be interested in as well. It's our Honey Bee Apple Blossom Walk. A great time to take family photos when the trees are in bloom! More

If you're ever in the Bowmanville or Pickering area, swing by Archibald's Orchards. This is a great place to spend a few hours. They have a variety of apples and you won't make the mistake of picking at the wrong time, since the trees have signs as to when the fruits are ready for picking. I actually picked a variety... Thanks for the great review! There's nothing like apples, fresh off the tree. No wax here! We actually grow 13 different varieties. Thank heavens they're not all ready at the same time. That's why those signs with picking dates are so important. Glad that you appreciated them. Hope that you can make it out for the 2017 crop! More

A flip through of most of the reviews here will suggest an evaluation between 4 to 5 out of 5. These ratings have to be from friends of the Archibald's. Anyone that knows just a little bit about fruit wine would recommend mouthwash over any of their wines. I can agree with the apple picking though, which is excellent, but... More

Sorry to hear that fruit wine is not your "cup of tea" or "verre de vin". It's not for everyone. However, eating fresh apples... well, that is for most people. More

So My husband and I took a ride out to this farm, we were very happy because the picking of many different types of apple was very easy to get to, we were able to drive our car right up to the field and the pick our apples. After we picked our apples, we then proceed to the nice shop,... More

I was so happy to read that you had a pleasant experience here at Archibald's! We also like our system of being able to drive into the orchard. It makes it fairly easy for people to find the varieties that they are looking for. My apologies for such a late response. I'm just getting up to speed on TripAdvisor. :) More

We came here to pick some apples, and the orchard is super well-organized! They hand you a list of what rows are picking, and there are many varieties of apples. We were able to drive the car right up to the aisles...not sure how that works on the weekends. There was also a store with loads of great items for... More

Glad to hear that you found us "well-organized"! We try to make it easy for people, especially first time apple pickers, not knowing what to expect. Glad to hear that you had time to check out our market & winery too. Our focus is on as local as possible. And to your comment "great people, too" - we're blessed to... More

Here's an opportunity to enjoy apples in a variety of ways - wine, cider, pie or fresh from the tree. A fun autumn outing.

We attended a wine and food tasting this year. This was very well done. You can also visit the area. I believe some of the proceeds help our this area as well. The apple wines are very different and taste so good. Recommend them

I loved your review "surprisingly the wine was really nice". People often have a preconceived idea about fruit wines, thinking that they are going to be sweet. Thanks for trying them! The Wine List is a work in progress. Come out & taste! More
