Stayed one night Sept.20/23, the only good thing about this place was that the room was nice & comfortable. However, we couldn't open our patio door because too many flies stuck on the screen door, if we would open it they would all fly into the room. So only way to sit outside our patio was to go outside the Inn and walk to our patio! The breakfast was good but so understaffed, no service & not professional when the girl at the cash is taking your order writing on a napkin. We loved the wine tour which was complimentary and the rose that was left in our room. They have an outdoor pizza place which was very good. I would only come back if these improvements have been done.

The accommodations were beautiful. Each room has an outdoor patio. The room was spotless. The wine in the room was a nice touch. The bed was really comfortable, The breakfast was excellent. Eggs made the way you want, bacon, sausage, hash browns, fruit, cereal, waffles, pastries and more. The wine tour and the wine tasting was great. The indoor art gallery and the outdoor art gallery were amazing. I loved the outdoor exhibits. The staff were friendly and had games etc for you to borrow during your stay. I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Inn at Huff Estste Winery. Got upgraded to the Winemakers Suite. It was awesome. Beautiful suite with wonderful wrap around terrace. Loved the Oeno Gallery on site and the 4 acre out door exhibit space. Had a wonderful wine tour with Brian very informative and a wonderful wine tasting with Bill. Again very informative. Breakfast each morning was great and they had lots of gluten free options for my husband. Would definitely come back again.

This rating is in regard to the patio restaurant and wine tasting bar. My wife and I were visiting local wineries, tasting wines and decided to stop for lunch. The stone fired pizzas were really, really good. The staff were very knowledgeable about the wines. We had a great time.

Nice grounds and rooms, however they put a group of loud, foul mouthed guys in the room next to us. It was so bad we had to leave a day early while they kept our fee. Will never go back.

This is a lovely inn with a winery and art gallery. Staff are wonderful. A hot/cold breakfast was provided. Rooms have private patio space with table and chairs. Decor is traditional with good A/C. Rooms are spacious. Good selection of food and drinks for breakfast. Premium coffee was also available. We enjoyed the wine tasting. This property is located on a quiet country road, lilacs were out, birds were everywhere. A very quiet and peaceful setting.

This review concerns only the winery and not the nearby, but separately run, inn. I have written a review for that already. We received a very welcome "flight of three" complimentary wine tasting with our inn stay. It's a short (five minutes) walk from the inn up to the winery. It's a typical tasting, nice surrounding, all sorts of wine on display to tempt you, and of course the tastings. The young woman was quite knowledgeable and very obliging. We really enjoyed the tasting experience. We would have enjoyed it less so had we to pay for it (which one does if just visiting the winery). We were able to sample, between the two of us, several wines and bought a few as a result (it always tastes great at the winery!). Prices are high but there are many reasons for that I suppose. We did not tour the winery but tours are offered at particular times. Nor did we try the ubiquitous pizza on offer on the patio. All in all, a worthwhile visit for us and the winery.

We previously stayed at Huff 11 years ago for my husband’s birthday. Our recollection was that it was a great place to stay, however, our recent two night’s stay has changed that opinion dramatically. Dramatically enough that we feel it important to inform travellers.
1.
The first night we returned to Huff after 1 a.m. from the Mustang Drive In. It was raining heavily and lightning. The Inn had directed us at check-in to park at the side of the Inn. This large ‘lot’, big enough for 20+ vehicles, is a large gravel rectangle with a line of asphalt through the middle. There is no impediment from driving from gravel over asphalt to gravel. Huff does not have any lighting for this ‘lot’. Without it, in the storm we backed up as best we could figure to the edge of the grass.
We entered the Inn through the open back door (which is supposed to be locked at 11:30 p.m. so no one has access to guests’ rooms).
The next morning we opened the curtains to see the OPP parked in the lot near our car, one of only two cars there. My husband went out and was asked if we were guests. The Inn had called the Police because our car was partially on the asphalt. My husband told the Officer we had returned very late during the storm and there was no lighting to see where we were. The Officer totally understood. As my husband continued to talk with the Officer a woman ran across the front lawn over to them and excitedly asked my husband if he was a guest at the Inn -something she would have known if they asked for guests’ license plate #s upon check-in. He replied affirmatively and explained the situation, and without another word to him, she turned and went back to the Inn.
Huff is in the middle of farm fields. There is nothing around, nothing near that would prompt anyone other than a guest to park in their lot at that time. There was no reason they should call the Police at that time. Their winery was not open at 9 a.m., nor was their pizza oven patio. They could easily have waited until their breakfast service was over (10 a.m.) and check-out time had passed (11 a.m.) to determine if the car was a guest. When we were checked out the next day, the same woman was behind the desk and didn’t acknowledge that she had called the OPP. She barely spoke to us. She didn’t look at us while she printed out our receipt a couple of feet away from us. No apology. No context as to *why* on earth her first step was the call the Police. NO attempt to compensate us for the unnecessary embarrassment. Completely unacceptable.
2.
When you check-in they give you a card to go across the property to their winery for a complimentary tasting. One flight for two guests for two nights. We walked over the second day and were ignored by three Huff staff. One was cashing out other visitors, positioned to clearly see us waiting at the tasting counter.
We have visited *many* Ontario wine regions and understand how busy a winery can be but we’ve always experienced the professionalism of staff who make sure to make guests feel recognized and aware that they will be with them as soon as possible. When this staffer finished with those cashing out, he turned and walked away from us without acknowledgment and began talking to other staff near the pizza area. As we waited for him, two other Huff staff entered behind the tasting counter, looking at us and didn’t say a thing, one standing in front of us for 5+ minutes without a word. It is important to note that there was nobody else wanting or doing tastings at this time at all, we were the only ones at the counter the entire time as they ignored us.
We had the complimentary tasting card on the counter in plain view. After 20 minutes, we left.
3.
Huff is not cheap and we don’t think we received our moneys’ worth. We booked last minute and were in their smallest, cheapest accommodation at over $800.00 for the two nights. A serve yourself breakfast is included but it is suitable for a hotel off the highway, not a supposably elite Inn in The County.
PEC is known for its plentiful farm to table abundance. Breakfast was surprising and disappointing.
Muffins were in plastic, not fresh baked. One daily pastry was obviously bought and dry. A bowl of fruit was clearly fruit cocktail from a can… Other than a very friendly young man who will make you eggs, the offerings are serve yourself, including batter you can use to make a waffle.
There are SO many places to stay in Prince Edward County that want your business and work to impress you with all that PEC has to offer. We won’t return to Huff and we thought it important to advise others to consider staying elsewhere.

My husband and I don't frequent the Prince Edward County region but thought we works try to stay at a place know in the area. Thus was a last minute random selection since - Huff Estates Winery.
It was the last room at a very expensive rate and was discounted by $100.00 because I called at noon for a same day check-in . The room still costs $645.00. The room was called The WineMakers Suite.
Parking was private foe the room holder and although lots of room for a family ....it was a bit big for just 2 ppl. Having saud that..it was old, dated and had a musky smell which eventually went away. The room is over-rated for the price. Dark and dingy ...needs a face-lift with new furniture..
Not worth it. Service at front desk at the time if check in was mediocre as well. Service could have been elevated for such an establishment.
Breakfeast was included ....not good at all. Quality of food does not match the price of our room. This place was disappointing.
