At Cape Chignecto Provincial Park, towering 185-meter (600-foot) cliffs rise from the Bay of Fundy while the world’s highest tides lap at their base. Cape Chignecto is a 4,200-hectare natural environment park on a dramatic coastal peninsula. The park features 29 kilometres (18 miles) of pristine coastline, some of Nova Scotia’s most significant geological features, deep valleys, sheltered coves, rare plants, remnant old growth forest, scenic views, and a rich cultural heritage. We offer wilderness camping in secluded coves and ravines, while a spectacular coastal hiking trail leads visitors along high cliffs and deep valleys. Because Cape Chignecto is a wilderness hiking park, there are no drive-up camping sites.

Camping here was wonderful.

Enjoyed the camping and hiking. We will be back next year for some more nature walks and hiking. Thank you very much to the park rangers and employees for making our stay so nice.

Amazing hiking trails along the beach and up the cliffs! We walked along the beach until we reached the sea cave (it is tricky to get inside) and then along our way back, we went up the cliff stairs and through the woods. We started the hike as the tide was going out, and it is important to know the... More

The ocean views are beautiful! We went to the first and second spots that take you down to the water and they were definitely worth it . The hike is very hilly .We had to take a few breaks to catch our breath. Still enjoyable but definitely for people looking for a challenge. The scenic route for the drive up... More

After stopping at the Park Office/Information at Red Rocks, and picking up a free map of the park, we drove to the Eatonville entrance to the Park (get directions at Park Office). We saw deer along the dirt road as we were driving to the trailhead. We spent 1.5 hours hiking the Three Sisters Trail and the loop trail to... More

Beautiful area for ocean look off or hiking etc.. The entire town of Advocate is very quaint and yet there are various things to see and do as well as places to eat.

One of the most beautiful locations you'll find anywhere with high cliffs, lovely hardwood forests, ocean views and beaches. These trails are for serious hikers as they are very challenging but the first leg of the trail to McGahey Brook, while hilly is doable and enjoyable for anyone in reasonably good shape. And once at McGahey Brook there's beach access... More

We found this by accident while driving from Joggins to Parrsboro. There isn't much on this road and we were welcomed at the visitor center with plenty of information. We only had time to visit the red rocks on the beach and were amazed by the pace at which the tide came in. Spotted eagles flying along the cliffs.

We walked along the beach and looked for unique stones and took beautiful photos. The unique red rock formations are very sculptural and the view of seaside cliffs was enchanting. We were only there for the morning and didn't have a chance to hike the trails but loved our time spent combing the beach in the sun and sea air.

The purpose of the park is to provide access to the Nova Scotia Bay of Fundy coastline at the site of the world-famous Three Sisters sea stacks. The park visitors’ center is located in West Advocate, but your only access to the park’s interior from there is via hiking trails. If you prefer to drive into the park’s interior, the... More
