So much to do here. Lots of great hikes and beautiful scenery. The visitor centre in Rocky Harbour had a lot of good information. The towns nearby have lots of nice restaurants and gift shops. Definitely check out the Gros Morne pool! It was lovely...More

This is a beautiful national park, a must see if in newfoundland. Definately make sure you stop by Western Brooke pond, the tablelands, gros morne mountain (although not for the faint of heart) and berry pond trails. There is a lot of information in the...More

Western Brook pond and boat ride is a must do. The landscape was beautiful. The lake is unique in its clarity. I will call the cliffs fiords though the water was not salt. The affects of the glaciers were unique. The park is a Unesco...More

We were there mid June and it was still very cold. Camping in the tent we brought was out of the question. We stayed at the KOA campgrounds in the cabin instead. One thing good about going in the fringe season is that there weren't...More

Great little village. I had to have work done on my trailer and so had time to wander around. Took lots of pictures (still on camera). Some of the friendliest people I have ever met.

On the merits and values of a national park system, provincial park system, ecological reserve, etc. Gros Morne National Park is simply the best of Canada. Geologic significance, flora and fauna, range of environments, epic landscapes, access to hiking and back-country routes, access to water...More

Weather was dry but the cloud were ready and heavy with moisture to drop; I wish we had more time for a hike. The boat trip was very informative. Glad we brought a fleece pullover, even in August.

Is there a storage locker we can use while we hike for 5 days?

Suggestions: lock the stuff in your car trunk. Ask if the last hotel you stayed at can store the stuff for 5 days (assuming you are returning). I never saw any storage facilities while I was there.

We've had a LOT of snow here in Newfoundland the past 2 months, and I've seen snow in May some years; I would wait until July or August to do hiking but check with Parks Canada in Gros Morne about their availability. May... More

Hello we were wondering how many days do we need in Gros Morne National Park ? We are planning a 7-8 days trip to New Foundland, trying to figure out if I can spend 3-4 days in Gros Morne and then come down to St.John's for 2 nights however we are not able to know if we need to spend the whole time in Gros Morne itself. Thanks Niki

It so much depends on what you want to see/do. If you are active, plan a hike up Gros Morne Mountain and the hike to the inland fjord. It is amazing but has to be done on a nice day or you risk cancellation. I also love the... More
