The GMWSRS is a multi-purpose not-for-profit facility that has a tiny marine natural history museum about the largest marine animals (Gaskin Marine Natural History Museum), a gift shop to help fund our operations with many local and Maritime crafts and gifts, and staff quarters for researchers and interns. Conveniently located across from the ferry ticket office, it is a great place to stop for a few minutes. Access to the museum is by donation.

This is a tiny little spot just by the ferry terminal. We tried to find it on a map, and the map had it in the wrong place. That aside - there is a lot of interesting information on whales, a just a little bit...More

Its small - about 3 rooms but very informative regarding whales and shorebirds. Some whale skeletons. Takes about 20 min to go through it. There is a small gift shop that benefits the museum.

This is located close to the ferry, so if you are sitting and waiting to get on, take a walk over and check it out. There is a LOT of stuff in a very small area. We didn't read everything but read a number of...More

The station Marine Biologist Laurie also provides lectures at the Grantd Manan Art Gallery where she shares her research at the station. It is interesting to see actual whale bones and understand their size and inter-connectivity. In contrast one can compare the size of a...More

It's a small, but informative museum near the ferry dock (you can visit while you wait for the ferry, as it's right across the street) of the marine life off Grand Manan, mainly whales and porpoises. Clarified some of the marine life seen on the...More

We were expecting more exhibits. While we understand this is a non-profit, the gift shop takes up 25% of the building. Everything seems very crowded, and more of a collection than exhibits.
