This lighthouse is claimed to be the most photographed in the world. It is a must see on Campobello Island and can only be reached at low tide. The journey to the lighthouse is an experience in itself!

Amazing views of the water, the coast and the lighthouse. Unfortunately the tide was in and wasn't able to walk out to the lighthouse. Didn't matter because it was such a pretty place.

The signs warn you--this is not an easy trip to walk over to the East Quoddy Lighthouse compound at low tide. And for we late-sixty-somethings it definitely was not. There is a fee to tour the lighthouse keeper's home but you cannot go inside the...More

Other reviewers seem totally confused as to where they are. One called it the "Easternmost point in the US". Huh?!?! Interesting, since it is in Canada. Another complained about having to use a passport to go onto Campobello Island. Duh........I have visited the point twice....More

The Quoddy lighthouse is a very interesting place as it represents the easternmost point in the United States. If you're up in Lubec/Campobello, I recommend driving over to see this. Just hope the weather is more clean than when I visited. This is technically Park...More

My husband and I were staying in Lubec and traveled onto Campobello Island to check it out. This island is in Canada so you must have your passport. Also on Atlantic Time which was kinda cool too. I found the East Quoddy Lighthouse on Trip...More

They charge $5 just to walk out to see the lighthouse from outside and another $10 for the tour of the lighthouse keepers house with the lighthouse. The tour was about 20 minutes. The volunteers have done a fantastic job of restoring it. Be sure...More

We went in the morning when the tide was in and then came back 4 hours later when the tide was out. Absolutely amazing. We took the hike to the lighthouse. Not for the faint hearted. Wonderful.

We were told that this lighthouse was worth going back over the border to see, and they were right! We were lucky to be there at low tide on a beautiful sunny day. Some of the more adventurous of the group ventured down the metal...More

Located literally at the end of the road, the lighthouse is staffed by local volunteers. It sits out into the ocean on one of two tiny islands that jut out from Campobello Island itself. You can walk/climb to the lighthouse only for two hours on...More

You have to time the trip right so you can get to the lighthouse before the tide comes in and leaves you stranded on what will be an island until the tide goes out. You'll be scaling ladders on your trek to the lighthouse from...More

You can walk across. Wear good shoes, yak tracks and perhaps a walking stick. The first field of boulders is the worst. I am 59 and did it 2 weeks ago. Beautiful views from the parking lot, or walk out on the trails from the... More

I would say you have about 2 to 3 h total or roughly 1.5 h on each side of low tide. If you get over to the lighthouse, the staff will give you about a 20 minute heads up to start thinking about heading back. It's only... More
