I booked a tour with Candace for my university class. The night before our tour we had a major snowfall that made for a treacherous commute, but Candace made it out to meet us and greet us at the site-Alice Lake. The twenty of us spent two hours outdoors in fresh and falling snow, pausing, reflecting and watching what was... More

Had a wonderful Talking Trees tour in Stanley Park with Candace - she has a knack for sharing her knowledge and experience in a warm and personable way. Using the trees and plants as a basis she shared some of the stories and history of the First Nations people of the region. It was fascinating to learn about the interactions... More

Martin, thank you for your feedback. You and your wife's interest in First Nations culture, history and nature brought with such insightful questions allowed for a great tour and opportunity to expand discussion. For us, our guests, who meet and share their inquiry, interests and enthusiasm also make our experiences as guides/cultural ambassadors memorable. Thank you, Candace. Happy Guide and... More

Today I had the pleasure of experiencing the Talking Trees Walk at Alice Lake Provincial Park in Squamish conducted by Talaysay Tours. I cannot say enough about how much our entire party enjoyed the interpretive walk with Candace and Deanna. We learned so many interesting facts about the flora and fauna including medicinal uses and even enjoyed some yummy snacks... More

I've had the pleasure of having Candace speak to several of the classes I teach now and each time I'm blown away. She is so deeply connected to the land and has such an amazing place specific, historical and present day knowledge of the area. Candace always checks in to make sure that she is accommodating others and makes everyone... More

The Talking Trees Tour with Candace was great! She is extremely knowledgeable and so pleasant and courteous. Candace shared great information about the land and the First Nations people of the area. For the cities we have travelled to, the city sections are similar, lots of commercialization, but this tour was different. We were glad we saw the option to... More

My husband and I recently went on the Talking Trees hike in Stanley Park with Candace, the owner of Talaysay Tours. She was a wonderful guide and shared her deep knowledge of the nation that had lived in this area, including use of plants for food and medicine, beliefs, culture and history. As a member of this nation herself Candace... More

Julie Thank you for your review and kind words. I hope you and Paul are enjoying this August summer in San Fran. In follow up, I wanted to share the book we were discussing. The book that Paul was interested in is called Vancouver Confidential by John Belshaw. The stories consist of various writers and contributors. Kindest regards, Candace More

We recently enjoyed a Talking Trees walking tour held at the Sunshine Coast Botanical Gardens. Led by Candace Campo we learned so much, and enjoyed so much the stories she shared. In the past I enjoyed a pulling canoe trip around a nearby Island and about 30 dolphins swam past us, I will never forget that perfect moment during the... More

I thoroughly enjoyed the Talking Trees walking tour through Stanley Park. My guide Candace was lovely, knowledgeable and happy to share her stories with us. I would highly recommend this walk for anyone with an interest in the First Nations or if you are looking for a peaceful walk through nature in all its glory.

We had a wonderful time kayaking through deep cove near Cates Park in North VAncouver. The rentals were easy and the staff were extremely friendly and warm. They were patient and professional on the phone when we first called to inquire and also in person. We were a large group of 12 people and they helped us organize ourselves amongst... More

This was a celebration of shishalh culture at their Longhouse, generously offered to the whole community on Canada Day. It was a wonderful gathering with storytelling, drumming, singing and dancing. Candace does such a good job of introducing we non-indigenous people to her culture and providing an atmosphere that fosters respect and mutual understanding. We've been to a few of... More
