We had to wait until 4 pm to check in to our accommodation and decided to spend the time here. The displays inside the museum were very informative but a bit hard to follow for a linear thinker like me. It was a beautiful afternoon and so we enjoyed one of the walks along the North Saskatchewan river with various... More

While not the Disneyland of Alberta the visit was most pleasant and informative, Try asking about David Thompson.

The main building has lots of history and artifacts. Very interesting. The fort outside is a nice place for kids. We wanted to enjoy the trails as well and also see the buffaloes but the weather didn't cooperate. Maybe next time.

I was expecting a lot more having been to several great "Fort Sights" like Fort Langley and Fort Steele in BC. I guess they are trying to make a lot from nothing so to speak. Its worth a short visit if you are here but don't go out of your way.

Myself and a friend just spent two nights camping in a teepee and it was so much fun. The staff were so friendly and helpful and very knowleadgable. We opted for the enhanced camping kit and we are so glad we did. It came with vintage cups, plates and cutlery as well as cooking materials such as a kettle and... More

A great place to take kids for an historical viewpoint. The museum houses an eclectic collection of memorabilia from early to present times. It was a great education for us on early Canadian society. Funnily enough the contraptions used in early days were not dissimilar to those used in our Australian early history.

Very cool place to stop in at! We walked the interpreted walking path along the North Saskatchewan river! They have buffalo on site the we viewed from a distance. Cool to see the history and experience David Thompsons journey and where the river brought them! The original Hudsons Bay company forts footprint are neet to see, I swear you can... More

Not much to see unfortunately, much is left to your imagination. However there's some interesting information provided about the fur trade, the US vs Canada trade competition and many other. I guess you could find it on the web. It was a sunny day and the North Saskatchewan river was beautiful.
