I got a local friend to take me around the downtown area to see the sights there and then went up to the village to check it out and was really worth the time and effort and will be for any fan of the western writer. I also think the city should really promote the L'Amour aspect of the place... More

There was a flyer with a walking tour of the sights. It was disappointing to not see more memorable plaques noting the buildings. Overall a good visit since my husband has almost all of Louis L'Amour books. This needs to be promoted and recognized by Jamestown.

Saw the signs for the world's largest buffalo and hometown of writer Louis L'Amour. It's free to get in,but donations are appreciated. I loved the small town that was set up with a post office, dentist, church, antique store, printshop, etc There were wagon tours with horses too. This buffalo is huge!
