Ryan Lake Park was looking good as it was previously mowed for the 4th of July. Ducks and their ducklings were enjoying the water as a family was feeding them from one of the docks/piers. Fish were jumping. Yes, they are in there. Cattails have taken over a lot of this little pond’s shoreline since my last visit . Gophers have been very busy digging holes everywhere around the lake. Gopher mounds and holes are easily seen everywhere. Be careful walking around on the grass. You wouldn’t want to twist your ankle stepping in a gopher hole. Checking out Ryan Lake Park is certainly worth a visit.

A great place to relax, enjoy nature or to go fishing. I enjoyed sitting by the (man made) lake, watching the birds and the people who were fishing.

Walked around this pond on a beautiful September day. Lots of fish live in here and you can even get fish food from a machine for 25 cents! Great for fishing with children or just taking a stroll. Has a playground and a shelter by the parking lot as well.

Great place for an evening walk. Pets on leash welcome. If you like to fish you can try your luck for rainbow trout.

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

Bravo! This is a fantastic place for kids to do something outside! It's a nice pond and well groomed surroundings. Fishing docks that are provided are also helpful to get that fishing line out towards the middle of the water. Adults and their children do not have to go far out of Grand Forks to enjoy time together fishing. Very well played, Grand Forks! Well played!

Catch and Release is Encouraged while fishing here at Ryan Pond/Lake.

Went to Grand Forks for Hockey and had a great time fly fishing. My 11 year old caught 20 trout, fly fishing. I say fly fishing as others were there trying to catch using bait on a bobber but didn't catch. They were impressed with an 11 year old catching tonnes of trout. One older man told my son he was off to Cabela's to buy a Fly fishing rod as catching looked like more fun. They both laughed. My son had a blast and I did too watching him and releasing the trout. Thanks to the Grand Forks leaders for making this happen and stock the retention pond. Great city experience.
