Pleasant drive around the lake

Limited for 3 guys on walleyes plus about a dozen very large perch. 2nd day got on the lake by 7am and limited on walleyes by lunch plus perch and then limited again on northerns. Facilities at Grahams Island State Park were literally the nicest we've... More

Wish we'd had a better map, but we drove the lake and the wildlife refuge, including a walk up to a viewpoint within the refuge. Because it was fairly warm, the animals were staying out of sight.

The fishing is fantastic in Devils Lake. Be prepared to provide your social for a fishing license though. Also go visit Sully's Hill while you are in the area.

Nice clean town, interesting with large lake and nearby Fort Totten. We toured the old fort and enjoyed a scenic drive around the lake on our way west on Highway 2.

Visited here for half a day this past week and apparently (according to folks in Grand Forks and Minot) this is a summer destination for people. The lake is massive, looks like it would be great for water sports in the summer. There is a small super cute downtown area with storefronts (lots of gardening) and a couple of restaurant/cafe's.... I have heard stories of fisheries where your arms go limp from catching fish non stop but have yet to visit one--that is until last week. Went to Devils Lake and fished with the Perch Eyes guide service and we really did catch fish from start until finish. James was an excellent quide, very knowledgable of the lake and the... More

Came back to town to fish again. Love the area and people but the fishing was the worst. I'm afraid the Perch population is gone though their life cycle on this lake or some sort of ill fate to the species has dwindled the numbers! They will recover in time! Plenty of pike and walleye left. Stayed at the Sleep... More

I was here for some ice fishing in March 2015. The fishing was horrible, but that is fishing. The lake was nice and frozen, about 4 feet thick! The area seemed pretty nice, and I bet it is nice during the summer. I would come here again to fish for walleye and pike. This place is out in the middle... More

Ice fished Devils Lake for a week and had an excellent time! The fish cleaning house was a very nice bonus for fisherman. The people were very friendly / helpful, and the fishing was excellent. The only negative I would say is that the cities waste water plant is right on the edge of the town and exposed so everyday... More

We stayed on a yurt in the state park, it was very clean and the showers were the best we have ever used in any state park, national park or LOA type establishment. The town it self was very quiet but all seemed friendly enough, there wasn't much to do but we were only on a 1 night stop so... More
