This is a great spot to go camping. The way the campsites are arranged ensures that each camper has privacy. The campground is well maintained and offers water recreation on Lake Renwick. If you enjoy kayaking, the lake is a great spot to visit!
We had such a wonderful stay at ISP! Our campsite was large, it was quiet, and it was clean. The swimming beach was so clean, the water had very little seaweed, and we thought it was beautiful-sandy beach with a large shady grassy hill area...More
Enjoyed a recent camping trip to Icelandic State Park (ISP) and truly enjoyed this gem. The entrance road winds you over the lake to a beautiful fully treed park with paved roads and easy drive-thru campsites. Primitive camping is available but is not for me...More
We stayed at Icelandic state Park near the Pembina Gorge. It’s a gem in North Dakota that everyone who camps or picnics should experience. Ranger Mike and his staff keep the grounds very tidy and clean, and the visitor center is full of interesting North...More
Stayed on August long weekend, and had a great stay. Had a nice camping spot on the west side of the park. There were several hiking trails, and a heritage museum. Each night there was a presentation at the ampatheatre. There is a small beach...More

We stayed there three nights on a weekend in a well-cared for campground. I especially enjoyed the short hiking trail through the nature preserve. We saw the North Dakota state flower, the wild prairie rose, blooming there. And there were very few mosquitos!
This is the second time I have stopped here. There are nice churches to shoot, a barn or two and lots of rusted farm machinery and a few vintage cars. Best time to shoot is early morning or late in the day.
Went camping with family and friends. Good amenities, great sites and friendly staff. Only reservation is the water when swimming in the dammed lake; it can be a little green and less than ideal. Rinse after swimming to get ahead of any rashes.
