The North Dakota state Capitol is unique because it is one of only two or so in the USA that is not a dome. It is one of the most accessible capitols because you can actually drive right onto the grounds and park. The grasses...More

Tour of Capitol given by very knowledgeable guide. We also enjoyed the ground floor museum. This tour marked our 43rd Capitol building and my 50th state.

Ramona, the information booth volunteer, did not steer us wrong. She encourage us to wait 10 minutes and take the 30 minute tour. We were going to walk around just a bit to say we visited the capitol. So glad we stayed. On the tour...More

The outside of the building is boringly modern, but the inside is worth a quick tour. The 1st floor has an interesting Art Deco theme and the top 12th floor offers view of the Capitol campus and surrounding countryside. Be sure to ride the express...More

Impressive building. Tour guide was well informed and gave a very good tour. Tours are free, and they explain not only the history of the building as well as an explanation of how the legislature works.

Very unique architecture for a capitol building. Make sure and go to the top floor for the view, that's the best part.
