While traveling in Wilmington, you simply must go to the downtown area and visit the Riverwalk. They have recently finished a lot of rennovations to it and it is wonderful. There is plenty to see and do, including cool shops and tasty food.

A board walk about 2 miles long offers a leisuraly stroll along the water front of historic Wilmington, NC. Plenty of benches to sit and rest, access to restaraunts and shops. Worth the time.

Very nice area to go on a good walk anytime. There many restaurants and shops along the way. Several boating companies have tours along the river. There is also a free boat ride to go across the river to the Battleship North Carolina, highly recommended.
