Great shops, architecture, atmosphere, the boardwalk is great with beautiful views, and downtown is lively but family friendly, we loved Downtown Wilmington!

Wilmington NC has some very beautiful old homes and buildings that have well maintained and preserved and it is well worth while allocating time to walk the streets of the historic district.

If Charleston is the Coastal Queen and Savannah the Southern Belle, then Wilmington is the lesser known sister from a family of beautiful sisters. You will find a large number of 19th century homes to admire and a few to tour. You can spend hours...More

There is always something to keep you occupied downtown! Live music, great food, beautiful scenery! You can hop on the trolley, take the free shuttle, or let your feet do the work for you.

Loved all of the old houses and old brick roads! Not as much history here as I expected to learn about. We took a Troll tour and it lasted for 45 minutes. Great way to see downtown.

We did not book carriage ride or meals in advance, but don't about the summer months. Park at the parking garage. Think there is only one public parking garage in the historic district.

I believe the tour was $15 per person and the guide that drove did a wonderful job explaining all the highlights of the historic district.
