I saw Expo 216 when I was looking for stuff to do in Wilmington. It caught my attention because it presents a social commentary. The exhibit we saw was on Death and Dying. This exhibit was really thought-provoking and makes you look at right to...More

Stopped by here during Fourth Friday gallery hop in February for the first time. Nice exhibition space. When we were there, they had a series of exhibits related to the theme of death and dying. They even had a representative from Lower Cape Fear Hospice...More

They put on various displays which tend to be thought-provoking, well organized and diverse. Recently went to their death and dying exhibit and it inspired us to create our living wills and create a specific plan for our bodies once we pass. I know that...More

This is a great space - and it's free! Expo216 has rotating exhibitions based on an annual theme, and has smaller rotating exhibitions based on that topic. Great art, but also history, social sciences, and other discipline based exhibitions. Stop in. It's worth your time.

Didn't know what to expect for a free gallery, but gave it a shot. We expected artists trying to hawk their work, but there was none of that. They were showing an exhibit on death & dying and it was very well done. It's a...More

Ok, this is an exhibit in a wonderful space with great light. It is not what one might expect, it is an exhibit about how plastics and chemical toxins affect us and the world around us. Very enlightening, very disturbing of how plastics are great...More

Stumbled upon this while I was walking around downtown Wilmington. It was a great find! Very nice art made from plastics from the ocean. Small with a big punch. The art is great, but the building is also very nicely remodeled. Glad I went in...More

Small gallery that showcases how plastics and other waste affects sea creatures. Also had a few art pieces that were entirely made from recycled materials. There were areas in the gallery with short educational videos.
