Great beach.

Not too crowded even in summer. Trash did seem to pile up at the beach access points, but beaches were clean. Great place for a beach getaway!

If you are wanting a place to just relax, it's Topsail!! My favorite point is that there is no crazy busy boardwalk. There are plenty of great restaurants and lots and lots of beautiful beach!! We have stayed in various homes, condos and hotels. Haven't had problems with any of the rental companies. Great place for families :)

Renting a beach house here for 5 months of the winter. See dolphin and take beach walks daily. Regularly also see humpback whales. Beach isn't busy or crowded in the winter, but many establishments are still open, just maybe reduced operating hours. Surf City Community Center is also a great place to work out. Nice, clean and decently equipped facility.

But telling you this means I will have to share my favorite destination with you and I'm not sure I'm ready to do that.... LOL It's a nice - not too commercialized place and I don't want that to change.

Can't wait to get back to Topsail! We had the most relaxing time. It was nice to be able to walk to almost anywhere you wanted to go. The hotel we stayed in was owner operated and small. Loved it! Was hoping to keep it a small paradise for us, but you just can't keep things that are so good... More

Topsail Island is a great spot to relax and enjoy life! It's a quaint island with friendly locals and a relaxed atmosphere. If you are looking for a Daytona Beach or Disney vacation, this is not your place to go. There are nice, beachfront family owned restaurants, and many things to do and see that are indigenous to the island.... More

A family member just bought a house here and I was here for Christmas this year. I totally fell in love with this area. It is nice and quiet and felt like the beach belonged to me.

We spent four days here with a focus on the turtles which were laying their eggs on the beach as well as some others hatching. It was really interesting to learn all about the different types of turtles which used the beach for laying their eggs, as well as the people who patrol the beach everyday to mark and protect... This was a winter trip so the beaches were quite. We strolled up and down the beach shell and rock hunting and watching the surfers along the pier.

I've been visiting Topsail Island since the mid sixties. I've watched as it has grown and has been nearly blown and washed away. It bounces back better than ever. A few things have left, and I miss them: the Flying Burrito and Selby's, a water slide or two... but it's still a nice, quiet place. I'd love it to grow... More
