We offer gem mining at it's best! You can mine the buckets here at the flume line or you can take the 4 hour trip out to the mine to dig your own. The mine trips do require a reservation. You can do the mining at the flume rain or shine. We also have a General Store/Gift Shop, Jewelry Shop, a free fluorescent mine display, a picnic area to go along with the gem mining. We also have gold panning. We are located one mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway so there are lots of places to do hiking if you like. Come and enjoy a fun filled day with us!

Our 6 year old grandson is crazy about gems so we took him and his 3 year old brother here to explore the mines. We bought a $30 bucket and he went crazy pulling the gems out before we could even get to the flume! He had a blast and it was well worth the money we paid. He was... More

A lot of the other places in the area just ship in filler dirt to mix with the gems they purchased around the world. This place has gems from local mines which I think is nicer. The point of the other places are to sell you mounts and cutting for the gems you "mined". That's where they make their money... More

I love mining it's as though gardening or weeding. Therapeutic ! I get my rocks to go and come home and do the sifting on my own! Plus I get a bag full of expensive rock to put down in my drive!

My little guy turned six and his American aunt said she would take him Gem mining. One of his favourite things to do! We hadn't tried this mine yet. THIS IS THE BEST MINE. Don't try the others. We are regular visitors to the gem mines... Yearly we do this. Go here first. Best service. Best gems and most helpful... More
