I especially liked the collection going back to the early days of pottery-making in NC, and explaining the lengthy process of digging and preparing the clay, turning the pieces, making glazes, and "burning" (firing) the pottery. Those early utilitarian pieces are particularly beautiful to me. There is also a collection of samples from many of the potteries in the Seagrove... More

Pottery from a large collection of artists in the Seagrove area. Beautiful pieces that are sure to please the discriminate shopper. If you don't have time to visit a lot of individual studios, the North Carolina Pottery Center is your place to stop. If you are interested in seeing the artist's in their work environment then studio stops are a... More

This was a very nice Museum to learn about the history of Pottery and the different types. Also they have a small selection of samples of some of the Potters work. Also great clean restrooms!! Worth the 2.50 admission.

The Pottery Center was a good place to start our tour of the local potteries. They have many of the local potters pieces on display with information on each one. This helps you decide on which ones to drive to because there are so, so many. It's a fairly new building.

We visited with a 6 year old, so the visit was brief. We have heard of the potteries at Seagrove for many years and thought we would stop and check it out. It was interesting to learn some of the history of the area and see the pieces on display. Would like to return when I could stay longer.

A great place to learn about all the potters and their different styles and glazes, with a nice selection of practical and decorative pottery to purchase as well. Well worth a first stop in Seagrove.

This was the third time my wife and I have visited the NC Pottery Trail/Highway and the first time we visited the NC Pottery Center. The Center is full of beautiful handmade local area pottery that is on display. There is also a small gift shop and the center is staffed with people who can answer your questions about "pottery...
