This is a little gem tucked away in Scotland Neck! We came here with a family of young children, teens, grandparents and parents and we loved it. The birds in this bird park are well looked after and very comfortable showing off their beautiful and unique features. The park is well laid out, informative and well equipped with friendly staff... Hard to photograph in many of the areas because of fencing. Nice birds to see but from what I had heard, I expected more and better opportunities to photograph different bird species. Area is well laid out and the provided map was a help. I was glad to be able to use a tripod, but it was hard to get... More

The Sylvan Heights Bird Park offers visitors an opportunity to not only view hundreds of birds, but you can walk through several aviaries and even feed some birds. Purchase a seed stick for one dollar and enjoy parakeets perching on your hand or arm. Don't be alarmed if one perches on your head momentarily. You can always purchase a bag... More

We spent a fantastic Saturday here with our family. But it would have been just as good without the kids! Tons of birds, and the park is set up so that you can walk close to them and interact. The price is right, too.

We went here on a spur of the moment visit. So glad we did. We got there a little after 2:00, and practically had the park to ourselves-off season, mid week and school day probably had a lot to do with that. 😊 The park is beautifully laid out, and the birds are in well kept enclosures and are easily... Yesterday was my second visit ro this park, and it was as delightful this time as it was several years ago. The park is beautifully maintained, and the staff are friendly and informed. A wide range of birds are available at close range. This park is particularly outstanding for photographers! The parakeet area offers a great deal of fun to... More

You have an opportunity to see striking colors and hear sounds from around the world. The park is well maintained, easy paths to follow through the park, you can enter some of the enclosures to get a closer view of the birds, the kids were awed bye having some of birds come up to them (looking for food). We had... More

We were fortunate to go to Sylvan Heights on its' tenth anniversary. It was nice to be there! We weren't there for the anniversary party. We have been many times before and each time it is spectacular! There are so many different birds to see and there is no rush to get to every exhibit at once. Our family went... More

Never heard of this wonderful place until we saw a commercial for in on tv. Made a day trip, only took about an hour and a half to get there, and it was well worth it. Very helpful and friendly staff. Well maintained and informative exhibits. In addition, a chance to see some very beautiful and rare birds. The interactive... More
