I was here once before about ten years ago when the cemetery was in better shape and we were allowed in to view the graves. Some dated back to the Civil War. The hurricanes and storms have taken their toll on this cemetery. I thank...More

If you're looking for a nice place to stay that isn't overly commercialized then you can't beat the Rodanthe/Waves/Salvo area.

This beach was quiet and small but perfect for relaxing. There is a grass area which has picnic tables and then it goes to a beach area perfect for reading a good book.

Far away from the hustle and bustle of the northern beaches of Corolla, Duck, Kitty Hawk, KDH and Nags Head...lies the quiet trifecta of Rodanthe, Waves & SALVO. We spent a week on the oceanfront in Salvo and it was exactly what we thought it...More

The beaches are clean and uncrowded. There are no lifeguards which was ok for my kids because they are disciplined and can swim. If you let your kids do what they want and not watch them then you better head to a life guarded beach....More
