Nice rock - good photo spot. Nice walk through the forrest. However, because of the flies and the sun hats and nets are suggested.

Just a little further on from the Wave Rock is the Hippo's Yawn, when you see this rock formation you will see where the name came from. The car park fee will cover all three formations, the Wave, here and the Humps.

As mentioned, the Hippo's Yawn is also worth a visit for a photo. Ir is part of the Wave Rock formation.

You can either walk to/from Wave Rock, but we took the drive option (2 minutes). You don't need to spend much time here, it's really just a photo opportunity and move on (for most of us). Easy access with a normal car, no 4WD required.

A big cave you could climb inside to the top was a nice walk to the hippos yawn. Nice scenery and a place to sit and rest after the walk from wave rock.

After visiting Wave Rock we decided to see Hyppo Yawn. This rock, which looks like a yawning hippo, can be easily reached by following the 2km long Wave Rock Walk loop which starts at the left end of Wave Rock. Having spent a lot of time visiting Hyden Rock, we decided not to do the loop but to move by car to the Hyppo Yawn car park. The car park is located less than a kilometer following Wave Rock Rd and costs 12 AUD, but to park here, the ticket purchased at the Wave Rock car park is valid. The rock undoubtedly bears a striking resemblance to a hippo's open mouth with full lips and dark throat. Classic is the photo standing inside the huge open jaws that every visitor takes. We also hiked a bit around the rock in the thick vegetation along the rock face, seeing some bobtails, lizards, a snake and birds in only a few tens of meters, but we stopped for the very aggressive mosquitoes we weren't prepared for. A short but interesting visit to keep in mind when visiting Wave Rock.

It is certainly worth the stroll around on the loop track from Wave Rock to see Hippo's Yawn. Take the obligatory photo but you won't need to spend long here.

Just a nice walk of less than 1km from Wave Rock, or a short drive from Wave rock carpark is Hippo;s Yawn. The rock formation looks like an open Hippo's mouth and throat. you can stand inside the formation. Worth a visit while at Wave Rock. Nice to do the circle route from Wave Rock to Hippo's Yawn and back. An easy walk as done with elderly parents with a walking stick. doing the walk to both sites you would spend over an hour, if driving between sites and not exploring on foot you could have a shorter visit.
