A short walk from Wave Rock is this other investing rock formation. It is also good at sunset. From here you can do a great walking circuit around the salt lake and back to Wave Rock Carpark.

Its just a modest cave really. But nice walk from Wave Rock and you can park here without paying the Wave Rock fee and take the trail....

This is a cool spot for photos and family outings. It really does look like a hippo yawning, almost cute... another of life's mysteries! It's just 1km past Wave rock and there are walks to do and things to see around here!

The rock formation with makes up Wave Rock starts almost from this point and the 25 minute walk takes you through the bush at the base of the huge rock with interesting formations, that eventually turns into Wave Rock.

You can do a Hippo Yawn loop walk - takes about half an hour, or ... when you are in the car park at Wave Rock, go out onto the road, drive ? 100 metres further along, and go into a car park at Hippo...More

This certainly looks like a hippos yawn! It is an easy walk from the Wave Rock car park and certainly worth having a look at. You can also drive to it and only have to walk about 50 metres to see it

You can walk around the base of Wave Rock to hippos yawn or drive directly to it. Interesting rock formation that looks like a hippo with their mouth open. No toilets or picnic tables at this site.

Free parking for the wave rock! A trail leads towards wave rock, it's short walk. Hippos yawn is alright for a quick visit. Many, many flies landing on your face though.

Don't miss this it is literally huge. Definitely an highlight I knew nothing about. Wave rock and Hyden have so much more to offer than I first thought.

It is not that spectacular on its own but was a great part of the visit to Wave Rock. We had a good walk to get there from Wave Rock.
